This was a little disappointing and the answer I was given by member services chat. Basically if I want to get the NACA UW or counselor to send my file back to BOA for my most recent condition or even get my file escalated at this point I have to sign up for the ATD event. Has anyone else seen their file move since Friday?
My understanding is once NACA UW sends my submission to BOA UW the conditions won’t show in web file. I uploaded a LOE and supporting documentation over a week ago and it still only shows as submitted. No response from emails to mortgage department or MC.May 14, 2020 at 11:06 am #67973
What stage are you in?
I was credit access approved at the top of last week and submitted my bank application by the end of last week. There has been movement on my file. I went from Lender- Pre decision /document prep on Monday to Lender -Approved with Outstanding Conditions on Wednesday.May 14, 2020 at 11:15 am #67974
I’ve been approved- outstanding conditions since middle of April with close date 5/28. Submitted my LOE and documentation for my most recent round of conditions (hopefully last) in the morning of 5/8.

It doesn’t make sense that they would place people who are under contract/at bank application on hold for people who are not even qualified.
My MC always told me you become priority once you have a contract in. She’s been great at trying to get my bank app in ASAP because she knows BOA can be the hold up in this process.
Hopefully @TTrumble can provide you with some answers.May 14, 2020 at 11:33 am #67977
Perhaps, they don’t know you are at bank application stage and are assuming you are submitting conditions for NACA qualification instead.May 14, 2020 at 11:41 am #67978NelsontMember
Prior to the pandemic, when the ATD events were live, a large percentage of MCs, office admins and underwriters – sometimes the entire local office were at the ATD for the entire event plus a day or 2 beforehand to set up and a day afterward to take down. Especially at ATDs in Atlanta, Baltimore, New York and LA where there would be MCs from all over the country and several thousand naca members and prospective members each day (maybe 10,000 for the weekend!) filling an entire hotel ball room with 2 hour lines for each step of the process, the naca employees were working non stop from 8am till 10pm. I know when I volunteered at the Baltimore event at the Sheraton Downtown there was hardly any room to walk.
The MCs had no access to email or voicemail as they were not allowed to bring their computers or phones and they were not allowed to remote into the system rendering entire local offices sometimes on hold for for 5 business days. This was, I believe, in an effort to help combat security breaches which naca has never had in over 30 years of operation in part due to the strict work doesn’t leave the office policy.
So yes during that time members who are under contract do take priority but that meant those files are at the top of the list once the MC returns, if the MC was at the ATD event.
There are now obviously contingencies in place to allow employees to work from home but, I would imagine the virtual ATD will take top priority for those employees involved and once the event is over other members are prioritized by contract status to an extent.

I think these events are great and am in no way trying to put down the program. I trust that my MC is doing their best to help me. My concern is some of the comments that come from member services are not helpful and worry producing. I think it’s important to point out opportunities for additional training for staff.

This a bit unfair to those already under contract considering there is 3 weekends back to back of virtual ATD events.
@azallin I hope everything works out for you relatively soon and you get your keys.May 14, 2020 at 12:10 pm #67983
Wont let me edit for some reason…
Just wanted to add that with everything having to be telephonic or virtual right now, using responses such as that they will leave a note for our MC about our concern is better then saying to sign up for the ATD event in order to get help.May 14, 2020 at 12:54 pm #67987MovingInMassParticipant
@azallin You’re right. I have found the chat feature to be the least helpful and most frustrating feature. And it’s not just around ATDs. If there’s not going to be more training/better connections with the rest of the organization, the chat should be relabeled so that only people new to NACA use it, since that seems to be what it’s for—just basic questions.
All that said, if you’re already at the BoA underwriting stage, I wouldn’t worry too much about not getting a response to the LOE you uploaded last week. Just make sure you always also send whatever you’re submitting to your NACA email file (email[NACA ID#]@naca.com). I have had things that were accepted and removed from my action plan/commitment letter still listed as pending weeks later.
Good luck with the process. You’re so close — just hang in there!May 14, 2020 at 3:59 pm #67999Al92Member
@azallin and @purdynerdy
I believe we are all in the same boat. My file was credit approved on 04/29. I am at the mortgage process since 05/01. So far I have had updates almost every day with some conditions popping up and addressing them. The commitment letter dated 5/11 was uploaded yesterday. The only issue I have is I haven’t received an appraisal report yet. Currently, per my MC all conditions addressed (ACA) and BofA needs to review my application.
I tried to reach the mortgage department yesterday. I was #77 in the line. After 2 hours of waiting, I was #3. I hang up 🙂May 14, 2020 at 4:21 pm #68001surpriseninjaMember
@azallin @Al92 This has been my experience too. It’s been extremely hard to reach anyone today. I’m in credit access and addressed my conditions and still waiting to hear from my MC. I certainly understand the strain of the event and this pandemic and not trying to put down. It’s just been hard to communicate since everyone has been moved to working from home, and now with the virtual event it seems to have become even harder. Keep at it everyone 🙂May 14, 2020 at 4:38 pm #68002Rml712Participant
I am only in the UW to get qualified stage, but have the same feelings. It took 8 days for my file to reviewed and come back with conditions. My MC then did not actually resubmit my file despite thinking she did and now I haven’t heard anything since actually being resubmitted. I can’t help but get frustrated that new people are getting prioritized for qualification when I have been working at this for months. ATD is really awesome, but they should make sure they are not allocating all resources for it.May 14, 2020 at 7:58 pm #68008TacoParticipant
@azallin I think you are my NACA twin. I went under contract on 4/8 with a closing date of 5/28 as well. I’ve been Sitting at “approved with outstanding conditions” for a while with my only condition being my Title Requirement. I still haven’t been HAND cleared since my re-inspection is scheduled for Monday. But NACA Hand calls nearly twice a week so I believe that the wheels are turning in our favor. Hopefully we will get our keys soon and on time.

Oh boy! Now I’m truly nervous! I signed my P&S on the 1st and have already had an inspector and the appraisal done. I was contacted by HAND and I responded to their messages and provided a contractor’s quote, but that was all last week. How are we supposed to know if we were approved for credit access? I haven’t done the loan application yet but it’s been a week since I’ve heard from my MC. So I’m not sure if he’s ready for me to do that yet. I’m really trying to be patient, but am I being too patient?
