MemberHi,
My MC asked me to get the Verification of Employment through TheWorkNumber. It cost a$40+ to request a VOE and that is the reason Naca does not use it ( Which I understand). The only way to get a VEO through theworknumber is by creating a Commercial Account. Has anyone found a work around? Did any of your MC suggested an alternative (maybe have Naca pull it and you pay for it)?
From a NACA standpoint, is there a guideline in regards to this ? I’m pretty sure there are many cases just like mine.
Thank you.

MemberYes, my company uses the work number and I got around paying the $40. Just call the work number and ask for a VOE for your personal knowledge. They will walk you through how to get it online. Do not tell them it is for a mortgage but for you personally. Good luck!

MemberWhen I went through the process I had to use work number. It is the simplest form of VOE. They can walk you through it but also most HR departments know how to get you online and printed out in 10 minutes or less. Just like housebunny said DO NOT tell them its for a mortgage if you have work number customer service helping you. Best Wishes with your journey!

MemberHi,
I’m hoping someone can answer this for me. I purchased my home through the NACA process last year in July and did not have to use the work number for VOE. A family member is now in the process of becoming qualified and received an email from her counselor stating that it is now mandatory for NACA to use “the worknumber” and that she must provide the counselor with her credit/debit card number along with expiration date and 3 digit code on the back of the card used with the work number site. Text from the email states: “There is a fee between $40-$50 for the verification, we would have to extend that fee to you because this fee is considered a “closing cost” and NACA does not have “closing cost” therefore I would need your debit or credit number, expiration date and 3 digit code on the back of the card.” Thanks in advance for any insight on this issue.March 16, 2019 at 2:12 pm #47911Newlywed Homebuyers
MemberWe recently were able to use our download however they told us that they were transitioning to the VOE SOON and didn’t know how soon. That must be now. I wouldn’t feel comfortable providing my debit card information number via email or anything. The only way I would do it is if I was in the office with them and I could hand them the card to type in while I was in their presence.
But they did let us know it would be coming soon and we would be responsible for paying for it when the change did occur.

Member@Newlywed Homebuyers,
Thank you for responding. Yeah, using Work Number is one thing, providing full credit/debit info well…. quite another. I advised them to contact member services regarding the credit card part.March 26, 2019 at 4:26 pm #48034PippiS

Member@KRM1213 @housebunny My counselor is stating that I have to get the salary key then call her to give her the key and pay the fee through her to get the VOE. What can I do since she’s saying I have to do it this way?

MemberI would just do what counselor says. I was able to pull it out my self but from a link from my wifes company website. I know its ~$50 to pull it out but I would just pay it if you can’t figure it out yourself. Its a lengthy process, and this will slow everything down.

MemberHello all,
Let me clarify some things regrading The Work Number.
It is simply not true that everyone must use The Work Number for their VOE. That’s because not every business uses The Work Number.
Our written VOE form is very much alive and kicking. In fact we are working on a means for the VOE and VOR to be automatically generated and sent after the intake session rather than the counselor doing it manually after the member has signed it to authorize it.
Making use of The Work Number has been awkward from the very beginning, which is why we are also working on a way to simplify the procedure for those who are required to use The Work Number. No details yet because I don’t want anyone making assumptions on what will be changing or when it will be available. We’ll let you know when it happens.
So for now, the status quo remains in place. We will use the traditional VOE whenever possible and The Work Number when required.
