I’m almost 60 days past my contracted closing date and STILL no CTC. A final appraisal was requested at the last minute, which was scheduled for this morning. 1st appraisal was done way back in Sept before the house was completed(New Build). I NEED to close next week contract has been extended 4 times. Only condition besides the appraisal was about a document for my student loans and that was submitted yesterday.
Hello Adjohn,
The final appraisal was not a last-minute action. This always happens with new construction.
The intitial appraisal is often nothing more that confirming that the lot for the home actually exists and the remainder is based on the plans for the house, to make sure that the finished product will probably appriase at least close to the purchase amount when finished.
A second appraisal is required when the house is 90% complete or greater. That being the case, if all conditions are now satisfied, things should move quickly from here. The next major step should be issuance of the Closing Disclosures, and you may close three days after the CD is issued.
It might go down to the wire, but you should close next week.

Thanks Tim for the feedback. I called it last minute because my house was completely finished being built back in October. The final appraisal wasn’t mentioned until 2 weeks ago and not scheduled until this week. I am hoping to close next week fingers are crossed.
I have not heard from my CC since last Wednesday!! I’m so frustrated as I know each day counts. And no I don’t have the closing crazies, there just has been a ridiculous amount of communication issues (or lack there of)my entire process.
@Adjohn I recommend you to be in top of your CC, don’t be afraid of calling or e-mailing everyday and it’s very hard that your CC will contact you, just check your webfile constantly and keep emailing and calling your MC
@southflorida Trust me I’ve sent emails for updates constantly and make calls but they normally go straight to my CC voicemail. I’ve called member services to ask them to send an email requesting my CC make contact. It’s really disheartening to be this close to owning my home but feel a million miles away. NACA has to take accountability for the ridiculous amount of lack of communication from CCs and MCs. All I need is for my CC to send the new date to title company like she said she would LAST Monday.
Ask Member Services if they would give you the contact information of his/her manager
