So I’m 23 and I just graduated college in May of 2020 and I’ve been employed since July 30 2020 (would have been June but they delayed my start date due to covid)
How does this impact the two year employment requirement?
I did work throughout college but I was given a grant to work in my field (tutored in the subject I now work in) and then interned in the summers in the same field I now work in as well so I don’t know if that would help me
Hello gmarin,
The foundational rule regarding employment is that you must have established a two year employment history with no gaps of 30 days or longer.
The only exception is if you took a break from working to go back to school or improve your employability by some other means. The two year base employment history is still required though.
Set your sights on July 2022. In the meantime, make sure you pay all your obligations on time each month and save every penny you can. then when the time rolls around, you will be in much better shape to become a homeowner.
