I logged into the Citibank website to check my application status and what was listed as a closing date on February 27th has now been changed to March 6th. I don’t know what to do. My last day in my townhouse is February 28th! I called my landlord to see if I can do anything but they’ve already got someone scheduled to move in. My children and I will literally not have a place to stay. I don’t have family locally and I can’t afford to put my things in storage and get a hotel until closing. I’ve submitted everything and appear to just be waiting on Citibank. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Can anyone offer any advice? Me. Trimble is there anything at all that can be done? @TTrumble

My contract was signed December 23rd with a date of February 9th listed as the initial closing. I was able to get the seller to give me an extension through February 24th. Then I learned that I could log into the Citibank website and up until two hours ago February 27th was the scheduled closing per the website. Now that has changed to March 6th.

And as if the situation wasn’t bad enough, my interest rate lock ends on March 6th as well.

    Hello davisies,

Have you told all of this to your counselor? He or she is always your first point of contact.

If you need to seek an escalation, it originates with your counselor, so get in touch with your counselor immediately.

I have communicated this to my MC. My last contact with her was yesterday morning when she stated she would contact the closing coordinator. I did not hear back. I emailed her again this morning and have not received any response. My real estate agent has also attempted to contact her by phone as well as email and she never responds to him.

Any update on your closing, @davisies?

I wish I saw this last week. If it’s not too late, I would ask the sellers for Pre Occupancy. You would need an Addendum. It’s basically renting the house from them at a prorated rate between the time you move in and closing.

I tried that with a house I tried to get before I joined NACA. But my offer wasn’t excepted.
