ParticipantOne of my conditions was participation. My local office said the only activity they will count is physical volunteering at a Homebuyer Workshop. I got a social media credit at the HBW but I also brought THREE PEOPLE with me to the workshop that I was never credited for. The office manager won’t allow me to do anything else except volunteer at a HBW 20 DAYS FROM NOW when there is one this weekend…won’t let me volunteer at the office, post flyers, or anything.
Is it true the only participation they will count is a HBW? I find that very restrictive. I’m so close to approval I can taste it. Please advise!
Thanks

MemberYou are supposed to be able to volunteer for office admin duties. That usually involves being at the local office and cold calling members off a list to confirm appointments. But that’s also probably both up to the office’s discretion and only if there are so many local members the office staff needs extra help. I would imagine if they determine they do it will only be in the spring and summer months during the house buying season.
I am also not aware of any credit for referrals. Each household member must physically volunteer 5x. Which usually means 5 workshops per person who decides to qualify with you. I am not aware of any remote opportunities.
Volunteering at the atd event also counts. But with that all said you should be able to be submitted for qualification if just sign up for the workshop it shouldn’t have to be afterwards. But that also might be up to the discretion of the office or your MC depending on the % of members they get who fail to show.

Participant@ttrumble had said in a post you’re supposed to get credits if you referred people.
My file had has already been submitted and it came back as a condition. So if I’m signed up will underwriting approve it?

MemberUnderwriters have nothing to do with volunteering. They only review your finances. I find it odd that you were submitted prior to signing up because the way it worked for me and many other forum contributors is you don’t get submitted until then. I’m going to take a guess here and say it’s up to the office staff to relay to your MC that you have signed up or volunteered and they can vouch for you on that part.
Also if I were to bet I would place money on the referrals not counting until they have their intake session and pay their annual dues.
I know in my case it’s the office administrators job to record the credits and I don’t often get an email receipt of volunteering until maybe a few weeks later. This is something I would monitor closely and inquire with your MC how they are operating.
