NACA gave me the loan mod which was great because I had sold my home by short sale and was to move out 9-Nov. Now the buyers and buyers Realtor are suing me.. I can’t afford an attorney. Can they do this? I had not signed any escrow papers yet.. The Realtor wants their commission that bofa was going to pay them, the buyer wants the appraisal and inspection fees back Everyday it has been something else..

    Hello Smiley814,

I’m afraid your questions are asking for legal advice, which neither I nor anyone at NACA is qualified to give. If you cannot afford an attorney you may be able to get legal counsel through your local Legal Aid society. Additionally many local colleges and universities with law programs provide legal clinics where law students provide counsel under the supervision of a professor/attorney at no charge.

I’m sorry that saving your home placed you in such an awkward situation, and I truly wish that there is more that I could do to help, but your present situation definitely requires qualified legal counsel. I wish you the best in dealing with this predicament!
