Can we pay for the inspection using a debit card from our primary account. We don’t have checks and tomorrow is Sunday so a cashier’s check is out of the question.

Does NACA have any rules about form of payment for inspectors?

    Thank you.

@dram81 I would check with the inspector. Mine sent me over a contract and Inpaid online via my debit card.

Naca wants a check because they want to see the routing number matches the exact account account they have on file with you. They don’t have your debit card number because that would violate identity fraud practices. Your debit card number is not linked to your routing number in a way that is legal for naca to find out.

I find it unusual you have an inspection on Sunday. Did you just schedule it this afternoon? You should have been able to go to the bank today or yesterday.

I would call your home inspector or go to their website and see what they say about payment and rescheduling.

I was in a similar situation, inspection was scheduled Monday right after work and I dont have checks either. I just made sure I had the invoice and receipt

It was scheduled today at 5:30 for tomorrow. I was waiting for their call back all day at it happened to be when the banks were already closed.

My debit card is linked directly to my primary account with NACA and they will be able to see it on my statement.

Hopefully we can pay online. I will call inspector tomorrow morning and I will make sure to get an invoice and receipt. Thank you!

I paid with my debit card for my checking account. They emailed me the invoice. It showed up on my bank statement when I uploaded it to my webfile.

My inspector requested that I pay through Venmo. this just caused a lender condition which was cleared when i presented the Venmo receipt. hope this helps.

I paid using his swipe device but he included my invoice on my inspection report. It was fine.

Yeah honestly, it shouldn’t matter as long as you can prove where the money came from.

For my inspection and re-inspection we used a Zelle payment on my Chase app. It came right from my checking account, and I was easily able to write a LOE explaining what it was for.

    Hello all,

I think the bottom line is pretty clear at this point. Just make sure there is a clear undeniable means of tracking the payment for the inspection and you’ll be okay.
