    It has taken me two days to respond because I was hurting, and how Nelson responded is similar to how I have been treated from my local MCs.

    I tried to stay in contact with the local office almost daily, and submitted everything I was asked for almost instantly. However, to have MC continuously not keep scheduled appointments, and not answer phone calls and texts, and then after contacting Branch and District Managers, and Member Services still not receive the member support promised at the Achieve the Dream Event, was, and remains very disheartening from NACA. I had truly believed that my family was going to join the NACA family, and to also have a success story to share along with others.

    I am always happy to read when the process has worked well and that others have enjoyed great successes with their MC. It is equally not fair to make harsh statements to a member when you are not aware of what that particular member may have endured during their loan process with MC.

    To state that I am not qualified to purchase my desired home is certainly not true. If my my tone was not well expressed, I apologize. But to the extent that we all need to be honest, I am really hurting about how my NACA experience has been. As a senior citizen trying hard to raise a special-need adult, and to work very hard purchase a home for the both of us, the way communications (lack of) have been was not fair.

    From many mediums I have read others express concerns very similar to mine, and I tried everything I could to not have the same experiences.

    Just because NACA may offer the lowest interest rate does not give them the right to treat people with disrespect just to provide them a loan when it clearly has taken members a very long time to even get to the point of where they felt home ownership could actually become a reality.
    If this issue is not also addressed – the way members are disrespected, then no, this is not a company in which I want to do business with.

    This whole experience leaves me very sad because I had really wanted a NACA loan and I wanted to become another positive advocate for NACA.

    @behappy4me2, I am truly sorry your experience has been a positive on so far. Believe me plenty of people have cried many a tears because of the treatment they have endured. You like me have read many posts were people felt disreapected, upset and hurt by the process. Many times end the end those same people with the negative comments are finally able to rejoice in the pleasure of saying they got there Final-CTC and now have there keys. One person experience may not resemble the next. Some people post when they are at their lowest only for it to work out in the end. Please, take a deep breathe and get your thoughts in order and do whatever it takes to get your keys. You want this for yourself and your child. Hang in there and if you need to continue to come to the forum to vent, get suggestions and encouragement. Hopefully you will have your keys soon!!!

    Tara585, Thank you for your candidness. It is almost the end of November and my new construction home is only three weeks away from being scheduled for completion and I also have to move across many states to get moved into our new home. This has been an excruciating process. I truly appreciate your honesty and encouragement, as also with the peabody’s. I was ready to throw in the towel, but I will try one more try. My son treasures the NACA teeshirt he won at the Achieve the Dream event, and early on, we had believed truly that we were on our way “home.”

    @behappy4me2 please try again. I am sorry you are going through this. Try again and see if something can be done. You have a few weeks to lock this in. All hope is not lost. I believe you will have your keys soon.

    Thank you @Tara585 for also being positive here. Like I stated before, this forum is for people to vent and rejoice but we do not have to feel the need to disrespect someone because their experience is not the best representation of NACA and that is okay. NACA is a huge machine now and unfortunately, all of the employees do not work the same so you will have people with complaints but we should not encourage them to give up on the process or else none of us would get our keys…

    I have had an amazing journey so far because I was mentally prepared for things to not go as planned. I accepted that long time ago and since, my process has been amazing. I want to encourage everyone to stay the course and get those keys…

    @behappy4me2, your welcome. Its very possible that things can begain the happen fairly quickly for you. Ive read many post where people have been so afraid because closing dates were coming up quickly and suddenly things took off so quick it was surprising. Like one poster stated, “be your own advocate”. Let it be known your not giving up! You got this! There may be setbacks but know that is a given so times with NACA. Your in my thoughts.

    @NewYorkSpirit, I couldnt say it better!! My closing is scheduled for the 18th. Even after I get my keys, I will be here to encourage all to get those keys!!!!

    @behappy4me2 although your experience has not been a good one so far, I do urge you to stick with it. Try and get all of those conditions addressed, keep emailing and calling and see what happens. I agree in that I hope you don’t give up just yet. I know a lot of people on here said they were about to give up then they went and had a breakthrough and moved their file along.

    NACA certainly isn’t for everyone and while the product is amazing, sometimes the process is a huge challenge. I do agree with sometimes needing the mind set that something will go wrong, so you are not surprised and upset when it does. I had that same mindset and things have gone fairly smooth with only one large bump in the road in my process. And it was a large one, but we powered through it and got past it! Of course, I had to talk to a regional director to fix the issue but sometimes that is what you have to do. You really do have to be your own advocate.

    I’ve been at this point since 11/6/2019.

    Lender Status: Application – Loan Estimate (‘LE’) is received by Bank of America and is awaiting submission of a complete bank application. Member must be approved for NACA Credit Access.

    I had all of the conditions addressed by 11/11/2019. The appraisal is complete and I’m waiting on the seller to complete some repairs. Closing is scheduled 12/11. Not sure who to contact to see if anything else is needed to push me to the bank application.

    As a first time home buyer, NACA has been helpful but I wish communication could be better since it is such a huge investment of time and money. I appreciate everyone’s comments on this forum as it has helped me stay calm.

    11/11 naca was closed. If there are no delays you should hear back from the underwriters within 72 hours. That’s also depending on when your MC sends your file over which means the clock could have potentially started today. You are still within the standard time frame so if you don’t hear anything by 11/15 I would reach out.

    When reaching out you can call the mortgage processing center or email your MC and copy your naca lynx address. Do not call your MC.

    Thanks! I reached out Friday via email – heard nothing. I called first thing this morning and my MC was in training and claimed I was missing documents (never was sent the 4506T March version – I found the June version online and submitted that). Now everything (I hope) has been turned in finally. I’ll check in with my MC tomorrow to see if I can finally move forward.

    Hello everyone,
    I was just credit access approved on Friday. I go into the NACA office on Monday to sign BofA application. I had my first appointment on 9-25. First counselor quit. File did not go forward for things being asked for which were already in the file or not needed. Reached out to Ttrumble. He advised to go to the big main event where they review a lot of people at one time. I went there first day. Paystub In file was a few days over 30 days. Told they needed that. I got updated paystub went back on Saturday morning. Not many people there where as the First day I went was packed. On Saturday I sat down with counselor. Gave her my paystub. I sat there 5 minutes and she said I am good. She walked me over to underwriter area and signed me in. I waited 2 minutes. Lady underwriter came and got me. She asked me a couple of questions. Then she said I am approved. She said my file was one of the cleanest files she has seen. I was with her for 5 minutes. After that I went to purchase workshop. Listened to the NACA realtor go over everything. I am non priority so I asked NACA realtor if they have easy way to let me know where I can buy versus of having me to do it myself. She said yes but I need to sign up with her. I was already going to use NACA realtor because NACA is a different than other types of mortgages. I signed up. She put me in her system where her system sends me link with all properties that I am eligible for. The link comes every day and shows every home listing. This makes it super easy. I found one in an area I liked. Submitted purchase contract. Got accepted. Home has some issues that need to be fixed so I am hopeful the seller will do it. My closing date is the 6th of jan. I will keep on top of my file to make sure it is moving forward. I have read about the closing issues on this forum. First let me say I hope everyone can close with out any issues. I work in the mortgage industry. I am an underwriter with another mortgage company. NACA does offer the best mortgage around. Some things that I recommend. Use a naca realtor for the NACA mortgage. There are a lot more requirements for naca and you really do want a realtor that knows them. Also, make sure you bring copies of everything you submit to your appointments. I did this and it made it easier as counselor may ask for them. Go over the qualification book and bring everything it says. If you do that it will be easier for you. last thing if you have a chance to go to one of the big events I suggest to do it. It was a lot easier process for me.

    You described probably the best experience of an ATD event I’ve ever heard. I volunteered at one and it was like waiting in line at times square on new year’s eve. This is good news! Good luck!

    Wow that’s amazing to hear! My credit access was approved on 11/21 and I submitted the bank app on 11/22. I was told the bank is behind and to expect to close in 30 days even though my contract states 12/11 as the closing date. I’m also concerned about my DTI impacting the loan approval because of my student loans but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

    Well your MC should have taken your DTI into affect and not even submitted you for credit access unless you were fine. So you should be good to go.

    Jprime from what other people have posted on here that looks like a tight closing date. You may want to push that out or at least be prepared for later closing date.
