Hello! I’ve been lurking here for ages and I thought I was prepared for anything.
The whole process went amazing in the beginning and from first workshop to ready to look for a house only took a couple months. My MC was very communicative and I had clear expectations. We found the perfect house, HAND didn’t require anything and we all expected the process to not take more than 45 days.
We’ve been under contract since 11/5
I have only been able to get my MC on the phone once since then and I’m falling back into depression from the lack of communication. I have no idea when/if we’re ever going to close. I’m going to be homeless by jan 14th if we can’t close.
After two years of working this hard to buy a house, I’m going to be living in my car and I can’t go through that again.
I don’t know what to do. All my funds are tied up on this.

Don’t call your MC that is the least effective way to reach them. Your MC probably doesn’t have more than an hour of time during any day they aren’t with someone and that hour is lunch. Email your MC and copy your naca lynx address. And ask for an extension on your lease. People are in your situation every day. Just relax. You will get this house.January 2, 2020 at 9:09 pm #64001
We used to communicate that way often so I can’t help but feel ignored.
I have also emailed them. Usually if I call the office, it would just be to leave a message for them to know I sent them an email. He even used to be on top of calling me back from the office after hours. I think it’s the dramatic shift since going under contract that is making me lose my mind.
Edit: sorry, @Nelsont I’m so in my own head I forgot to quote you or thank you for trying to make me feel better. I appreciate it.January 2, 2020 at 9:27 pm #64004NelsontMember
No worries. Your MC will probably not respond if they have no news to give. Try calling the mortgage processing center.January 27, 2020 at 8:58 pm #65069
Day 84 tomorrow. Still “approved” with no clear to close and no end in sight.
I’m paying the sellers to stay in the deal.
Between that and the hotel if we don’t close soon I’ll be broke with no where to go. I’m not going to have enough to put down on an apartment for a few months if I lose my earnest money.
I’m going to be penniless. Can I even stay naca qualified while I’m living out of my car?January 28, 2020 at 6:06 am #65071January 28, 2020 at 7:58 am #65073
@Kscheib have you completed the bank application yet?
11/5: under contract
12/3: bank app submitted
12/30: first closing date listed on a CD
1/10: second closing date listed on a CD
1/17: third closing date listed on a CD
1/28: ?? Three CDs later but no CTC or final CD. Every delay is more conditions, some repeats or asking for different info that was technically already uploaded (like a charge already explained by a statement they already have).
Never had HAND rehab requirements. Every condition was uploaded within hours at the latest. Even that was pulling teeth because if I didn’t call then nothing gets updated.
The director Eric Exum has been involved. My file has been “expedited” since December. NACA blames the bank but has no recourse and there isn’t anyone you can talk to at the bank.

I meant “escalated” but I blame the fact that I have to write this on my phone since I don’t have a desktop set up in the hotel. I’ll probably have to sell my computer when I run out of money anyway so I better get used to using my phone for everything.January 28, 2020 at 2:59 pm #65083Thomasina729Participant
Oh my gracious! I am praying for you for sure. I am very close to your stage. I am waiting for my first CD though.
