  1. Why am I getting a bill for the $25.00 membership fee? I thought once I purchased I didn’t have to pay that fee again. What is the fee for? Can anyone assist me with these questions?

    1. Hello Simpletimes2,

Once you have closed on your home, the $25 annual membership dues are no longer collected. If you have been billed, please call NACA Member Services at 425-602-6222 for assistance in correcting this.

  2. I’m having some difficulty submitting my $25 dues through the website. When I selected to pay membership dues only (no credit reports), the website would not allow me to submit my payment. I got an error message that said I needed to select the number of credit reports but there wasn’t an option to select no credit reports. I just had my credit report in December 2019, so I’m not sure if my counselor will need another credit report yet. (My next appointment is in April 2020.)

    1. Hello ccarlson,

It appears you may not be doing things incorrectly since you should not have to deal with a credit report fee. If you are only trying to pay your annual dues there should be no reference to credit report fees at all, which are a totally separate item. Please contact NACA Member Services at 425-602-6222 and a representative will help you get it taken care of.

    1. Hello Terrence,

Yes. The program requires you have an active bank account anyway, so this should not be a problem. Your counselor will simply do an electronic draft from the account.

      1. What if you have a checking account but no checks to pay the fees? Are there any other options such as putting in checking acct number and routing number to pay instead?

        1. Hello Kimberly Trent,

Actually the routing and account numbers are the precise information needed rather than a physical check.

  3. I am so excited because I had my NACA homeownership workshop, and Home purchase workshop, I now have a homebuying plan and I have found it’s to be an easy process so far. The NACA staff have been really helpful. The staff is trained to look out for your best interest. The staff is helping me through the process via creating a plan that will ensure that I become an successful home buyer.

  4. Why must I supply a check number to pay for NACA membership? I don’t do it when paying for anything else online.

    1. Hello Desiree,

The membership and credit report fees are paid through an electronic draft from your checking account, not with a debit card as you may be used to doing. The draft requires a check number be entered, and most people like to write out a physical check, which they then mark VOID, for recordkeeping purposes. If you cannot or do not want to supply an actual check number, your counselor will simply use 0000 as the check number.

      1. Hello, if I’m trying to pay my membership fee and for a credit report on the website and I don’t have any checks am I able to put 0000 as the check number or does a NACA representative have to do it?

  5. Hi, i recently spoke with someone about my case, i cant be approved or apply because my husband and i come from Washington to arizona and we have to a record of living in az for 2 years and proof of income for 2 years in Arizona witch we dont have, we do have everything needed for Washington state but we can’t apply or be approved because theres no naca in Washington i wont be able to proceed, will my 25$ be withdraw anyway even if i can’t qualify? I did submited a payment but i wont be able to be helped getting a house,

    1. Hello lorena viera,

I’m afraid you were either misinformed or misunderstood what you were told. While you will have to establish three months residency and employment history in Arizona, you will not have to wait two years to qualify in Arizona. If the move is due to a job transfer by your employer, you may qualify in Washington and simpy continue the process in Arizona once you arrive there.

As of July 1, the NACA program is available in all 50 states, regardless of whether or not we have an office there. Members in states where there is no office can simply work with our Remote Counseling program. In fact the entire NACA process is presently being done entirely online for all members regardless of location because of the pandemic.

Please go to https://www.nacalynx.com/naca/webfile/member/event/eventWebinar.aspx?txtEvent=AZ and register for an upcoming Qualification Workshop online to start the process. Workshops are available in both English and Spanish.

  6. I am married and I attended the initial workshop solo. My husband is moving into the house with me. Not sure if he or I want him to participate. Does he have to participate anyways?

    1. Greetings Dale,

I hope this email finds you doing well! Your husband can choose not participate however information and some documentation would be required. I hope this helps

      1. Hello can this program be used to purchase new construction or only existing homes? Also would homes in Lakeland or Riverview Florida qualify?

        1. Hello Peter Cortapasso,

New construction can be purchased through NACA as well as existing homes. NACA does not limit the cities in which you may buy.

    1. Greetings @Irismurcy,

I hope this message finds you doing well! Paying your rent is based on the due date in your rental agreement is what NACA goes by. Also letters can be hand written or typed however I would still sign them. I hope this helps.

  7. Good afternoon, I am at the stage of submitting payment for my partner and I (not married). I cannot remember, is it membership x1 between the both of us and credit report x2? Or is it membership x2 and credit report x2?

    1. Greetings @Janae,

I hope this message finds you well! Membership is one if you both are sharing the same NACA id however credit report would be two credit reports. I hope this helps!

    1. Hello Tiffany Robinson,

The membership fee is $25.00 per calendar year, which covers the entire household and ends after you have closed on your new home. The only other fee is reimbursement of our costs to obtain a credit report as needed, which is $13.41.

  8. Hello,
I have started the process in Chicago, IL, and a remote worker, and looking to move to TX. Will I need to be in TX for 3 months before I can use NACA in TX?

    1. Hello Robert Jones,

There are variables regarding the specific reason for the move. Please consult your counselor for details.

  9. It’s so odd that there are no prices under payments. i have no idea how much I am paying for the membership and credit report. Please tell me how much the fees are.

    1. Hello Daja,

If you’re expecting a “gotcha” where the annual membership dues and credit report fees are concerned, I’m going to have to disappoint you. 😉

In fact, this is clearly explained during the Qualification Workshop and is also detailed in the Workbook. Annual Membership dues are $25.00 to cover the entire household for the calendar year. Credit Report Fee is $13.08 for a single person and $13.41 for a legally married couple.

  10. I am trying to se my appointment up online, when I go to set it up it keeps telling me to provide my bankstatments, which I have done. I got back to that page its showing my latest bank statements is there . Should I just call and set the appointment up over the phone ?

    1. Hello Whitnei,

If your webfile is saying it needs bank statements, then there is indeed something missing. You may want to double check the documents you have sent. Otherwise, calling your local NACA office for help in setting up an appointment is a very good idea.

  11. I’m a member of NACA now
But I’m not yet uploading my documents
Because I see the agreement said I must pay 25$ for all people in my family, so
When NACA stop charge after I got the house?

    1. Hello Soucheng,

The $25 is not per person. It’s per household. You will pay it every year until you close on your home. So your options are listed as such when you pay. $25+13.08 (Single Credit report) = $38.08 / $25 + $13.41 (Married Credit Report) = $38.41.

  12. After closing on a house with NACA, are membership fees and volunteers events no longer required thereafter?

    1. Hello Natasha,

After closing the membership fee is no longer required. But participation we do ask to continue to do as long as you have the loan with NACA.
