I’d like to know when will I see something under status? It is currently blank and has been from the start. I was submitted to underwriting a few weeks ago. Just completed their request. Resubmitted on Tuesday and hoping to hear back tomorrow or Friday.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello TanyaMo,

Typical turnaround time from Underwriting is about three business days, so a Friday response would be realistic. If you don’t have it by next Tuesday, send me an e-mail with your NACA ID number so I can review your file and advise you.

    Thanks!

I heard back today from my MC. Underwriting ask for a few things. What I do not understand is why (it seems) they do not go through you file completely and then make request. It seems like you satisfy their request then they keep coming back with something else. Anyway, I’m not complaining- I’d would love to know how they work.

My original question was when exactly does one see “something” under status on their web file?

    Thanks!

Tanya – Get used to it. Nobody you deal with will give you an entire list of the things you need. This includes but is not limited to underwriting, bank app, underwriting again and waiting to close.

They are doing exactly as you described – They get to a single error in your file and kick it back. You address it and resubmit. They hit another snag… and so on and so forth.

The only people I dealt with that reviewed the entire file was HAND.

As far as your question goes… I was updated to Qualified and then Mortgage Processing. I don’t recall anything before and since I’ve closed, I have nothing.

    Hello TanyaMo,

Your MC is going to ask you to deal with each error, omission or issue as soon as he or she discovers it.

It’s not unlike driving through a parking lot. You can only go over one speed bump at a time to get to the parking space you want.

I have never encouraged members to rely on the status indicator in their file, either in the Purchase or Home Save programs. It is not uncommon for the status to remain in one place, then jump a couple of steps in a short time as progress is made. It’s more of an inidcator of where you have been than where you are going in the process.
