Hello,
I just have a question about volunteering. I volunteered last week at my local office for 4 hours and I was told by the receptionist that volunteer services is counted by “hours” and not by “actions” and in order to meet the minimum standard for bank approval I would need to volunteer for 16 hours total. This is conflicting information because I remember someone at NACA stating that each volunteer action is counted as 4 hours and we only need 5 “4 hr” actions yearly…the way the NACA receptionist explained it I would need to complete 40 hours a year (with 16 minimum before closing on home). Can someone please clarify??.
I also told her that I wanted to do flyers and she said that every “100” flyers I posted would count as 1 hour, meaning I would need to pass out 800 flyers just to complete the volunteer action of spreading the word about NACA…That doesn’t seem right to me.
Hello tmoore_20,
Honestly, that’s a new one on me. While our system does account for the number of hours spent in a participation activity, there is nothing in the Purchase Workbook or your Member Agreement that specifies a number of hours. You should inquire again and if the receptionist says the same thing, ask her where she got her information.
