    @ttrumble

    We are more than 90 days from signing our contract, and today our webfile says: “underwriting: file clear to close – file moved to processing for pre-close.” We also got word from our MC an hour and a few minutes after the time for this note that we needed to provide a letter of explanation for varying names on his credit report. This was at the end of the day (5:23), so we were unable to get this letter to him until an hour or two later, but it has now been uploaded and emailed. We plan to follow-up as well in the morning.

    Our question is how soon should we expect to receive our final CD and closing date? What’s realistic? This has been a long process, and we have not always had the communication we needed to know the current timeline.

    Thanks,
    Christina

    Hello cmartinezwilliams,

    Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been away on personal business and have also been dealing with technical issues for the past few days.

    By this point in time, you are probably already closed and in your new home. however, the final CD usually is in your possession within 48 hours of the CTC either electronically or physically. Closing can be as soon as three business days after the issuance of the CD.
