Tagged: Down payment assistance
Hi,
We just learned that it takes 30-60 days to get a down payment assistance program NACA-approved (IF it hasn’t already been approved). Also, when seeking approval they need details on the program, like a PDF explaining the app process, and a copy of the note or document that will be recorded at closing. When you seek approval, email your MC and copy your office manager. That’s what we had to do.
Just wanted to let any members know that, so you can plan accordingly. I wish we would’ve known so we could have sought approval at our initial intake meeting, and not so late in the process.
I hope this helps someone.
thanks for the info. I was wondering how the down payment assistance would work. do i need to contact the county i live in to get the info or can i print it from off of the website?
Hello acimahs,
Your local office should have information on the most commonly used programs in yrou area, however, don’t be afraid to ask your HR department and/or union at work, local housing authority, any fraternal oranizations to which you may belong, and so on. Many of these have specialized program for which you may qualify that are not available to the general public.
