MemberI’m currently attempting to work with a local counselor located about 45 minutes from me(not too bad) But it’s taking her weeks to update my file ( I have uploaded or email everything requested) sent several emails only to receive information regarding someone elses file and nothing on mine or replies like got it or k. I’m still trying to get qualified. So at this point I’m wondering is it better to request a remote counselor? Because at her pace I will be dead before she update information
Any suggestionsAugust 13, 2019 at 2:31 pm #522532BLESSED
MemberI have a Remote Counselor and started my journey in November of last year. I had a setback due to a tax situation that I had to pay so I was setback one month. I was qualified last month and have recently sent in my P&S agreement. My counselor was wonderful and I did have some rough patches and felt the same as you at some point. I recommend staying organize and reaching out to the Office Manager if need be. I though it was going to be NACA Qualify Suicide by doing this but everything worked out for the best. In my experience, your file will not get updated unless you are on the phone with him/her. The MC’s are extremely busy and sure somethings might be missed and misplaced but keep everything in a folder on your desktop so when they say they don’t have it, you can send it immediately. Hope this information helps. Stay focused and get what you came to NACA for, YOUR HOUSE!

MemberThank you @2Blessed yes I have my folder in order every time I upload something I stick it in there. I will contact office manager (last week she was out of the office). I know I seen on one of these threads requesting a different counselor looks bad on our end, so I’m trying everything I can before I do.

MemberI am under the impression a local MC is better because a remote MC can only go so far in the process and I think even with a remote MC you will still have to come to the local office for some things.
What I do know for sure is switching counselors is frowned upon and only allowed once. You have to submit a request to switch and NACA will review that request and determine whether to approve or deny it. Generally I think they only like to approve switches from remote to local. Not local to remote or local to another local. Once you’ve done one switch you will flat out be denied a 2nd switch.

MemberOk that’s great to know
I appreciate it. Once I’m qualified do I still go thru her until I close or do I move on to someone else??August 13, 2019 at 3:48 pm #52367citymouse
Member@hizwife07 you stay with the MC until you sign a contract on a house. Once you get approved for credit access and submit the bank app then you’re assigned a closing coordinator who will be your main point of contact until the end. In my experience, the CC was more responsive and had better follow-up than the MC.
