I pay all of my bills on time, credit score looks great however I transferred too much money into my savings and got a $35 overdraft fee onto my acct last month. I’m only looking to buy a house with payments no greater than the amount I pay for rent now. I almost gave enough for my fees. What’s the possibility of getting qualified or should I just give up the hope and save for 3 more months. :/

    Hello dreamer94,

First thing, call the bank and ask them to reverse the overdraft fee as a courtesy. That will go a long way to removing the overdraft as a possible bump in the road for you.

With NACA, it’s never actually a question of IF you will be qualified, but WHEN.

If you follow the guidelines of the program, follow your counselor’s instructions and be relentless about succeeding in the NACA program no matter how long it takes, you WILL get approved. You are the biggest controlling factor in the process.

Also, keep saving no matter what. You will never go wrong doing that. Go ahead and get started so your counselor can review the entire situation and advise you on how to proceed. There’s really no way to tell where you are or what you need to do without doing that.
