For the past 4 months now, we’ve been going through the NACA process. I understand it can be time consuming as info need to be thoroughly verified. We’ve had multiple appointments with different counselors and each time, new documents are requested which I can honestly say we submitted and w/ no complaints we resubmit the info trying to make it easier for all of us. Today, we had another appointment with a new counselor and got some news which is questionable and couldn’t be explain. My mother-in-law is temporarily living with us until the lease expires 11/2020, she contributes to the bills and LOE provided. NOW, it’s being required for her to submit her W2 forms, pay stubs, credit check, etc and get added to our NACA profile. Why is her info needed? She will not be residing with us in the future and she’s unwilling to provide her personal info.

    Hello AshleeJo99,

Your mother’s information is not needed for the file if she is not going to be living with you in the new home. Make sure to clarify to your counselor that she will not be a member of the “new” household as only household members in the new home should be included, and her status should be changed to an ex-household member. Other than that, an LOE explaining the situation, which you state you have already provided, should be sufficient.
