Hello, I need help because the HAND department seems to be giving up on us. We needed the property to be reinspected because the sellers agreed to fix the required repairs. They took a while to fix these issues but eventually they did. The problem however is that now the revised (re-inspection) report hasn’t been uploaded and HAND won’t clear us. We have sent an email containing the new inspection report to pretty much everyone dealing with our file but they still won’t clear us. We even spoke to the inspector and he stated that he uploaded the file 3-4 times after we asked him and HAND still say that it’s not there. We even had to ask the Inspector to talk to HAND by phone and still no resolution. I don’t know what to do anymore. I call HAND everyday asking them to please resolve the issue or to help us but they always say they can’t do anything until that report is uploaded via the inspector. The inspection report is just like the VOE and VOR forms that were required during your qualification phase. They cannot be accepted from you under any circumstances for the very simple reason that it opens up the possibility that they may have been altered.
The only source from which the inspection report can be accepted is the inspector. Obviously the inspection upload system does work or HAND would never be able to clear any files whatsoever, so I’m afraid the issue without a doubt lies with the inspector. He’s the one you need to be calling daily to resolve the issue, not HAND. If he claims to have sent the report so many times and it has not been received, then he’s doing something wrong or else it would be there.
However, the biggest single danger you are facing right now is the perception that “the HAND department seems to be giving up on us”. Forgive me for being a little direct here, but I don’t want you to shoot yourself in the foot, so that perspective needs to change. Negative attitudes prevent more people from completing the process than anything else, bar none, not to mention you’re focusing your attention in the wrong direction to get the problem solved.
If the inspector is submitting the report properly, it will show up in your file in a matter of seconds. So please have him call the HAND department at 210-319-2978 and ask them to walk him through the process while they are on the phone. Hopefully they will figure out where he is going wrong and finally get the report into your file so you can be cleared.
