NACA. THE LAST TIME I CHECKED FOUNDATIONAL BLACK AMERICANS BUILT THESE UNITED STATES AND FOUGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS THAT IS CO-OPTED BY EVERY OTHER MINORITY AND MAJORITY GROUP. YOU SAID THIS PROGRAM IS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE BLACKS WHO FOUGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS BUT NEARLY 80% OF THE UPCOMING NEW MEMBER APPOINTMENTS ARE SPANISH ONLY. SO WHO ARE YOU REALLY INTERESTED IN HELPING? BLACK AMERICANS SPEAK ENGLISH. ARE YOU TAKING MONEY ADVERTISED FOR CIVIL RIGHT FIGHTERS AND DIVERTING FUNDS TO OTHER MINORITY GROUPS TO OWN PROPERTY AND BUILD WEALTH ON THE BACKS OF BLACKS? WHO OWNS NACA??? THIS IS MISLEADING BECAUSE MOST BLACK PEOPLE HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS PROGRAM BUT YOU PUT OUT FLYERS IN SPANISH SO THEY CAN BUY UP THE HOOD WITH BLACKS BLOOD MONEY.

    Greetings @Quora,

I’m afraid your statement makes some inaccurate and even dangerous assumptions based on what is apparently a misinterpreted observation.

Very simply, the reason you are seeing greater numbers of Spanish language appointments available online is because only unfilled, still-open appointments are displayed. Once an English or Spanish appointment is filled, it is not displayed online.

Therefore, you see fewer English appointments available because they have already been scheduled! English language appointments outnumber Spanish appointments approximately four or five-to-one, just as we conduct proportionately more online Qualification Workshops in English.

Many of our local offices are scheduled several months in advance, and the English appointments for our upcoming Achieve the Dream events are nearly filled through November.

While housing discrimination in all of it forms has disproportionately affected minorities in general, NACA’s mission is in fact founded on the principles of the civil rights movement. NACA’s doors are open to everyone, which is not only in keeping with the Fair Housing Act, but with Dr. King’s dream that people should be judged based on the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Instead of misreading our work, we invite you to join with NACA, see for yourself and become part of the solution. Nearly 70,000 homes have been purchased through the NACA program, with more than 85% purchased by low and moderate income and minority home buyers.

We a sorry to see that you have jumped to such dramatically wrong conclusions. NACA’s mission of economic justice means equal opportunity for all people. What you saw was in fact proof that the majority of NACA members are indeed African-American, while we still accommodate Spanish speaking residents, and in fact people of all races.
