We were able to get our first meeting pushed up 2 weeks after the Homebuyers workshop. I wanted to know how long it took you from workshop to close?

    Workshop July 7th
    Closing this month- Decemember 17th
    So 5+ months

    First meeting was September 10th
So you could say it took 3 months after the initial intake meeting

I did my workshop late August? I believe so. I closed 11/29/2018 but the first house we did in the middle of Sept fell through and I got another offer accepted 10/15/2018

All cases are different. Some people take a few months. Some people are not elegible for qualification and may have to wait 1 or 2 years. It depends on your financial picture. Debt. Savings and many variables

This makes me feel better. We don’t have to do a payment shock or anything so hopefully after our January meeting we can go ahead and start building.

    Hello knikoleellis,

The key thing to remember is that YOU are by far the biggest single factor in how long the process takes. Your most recent two years of financial history and current income, savings, obligations etc. will be what determines the length of time it takes for you to get to closing.

Stick with it and never give up, even if there are unexpected bumps in the road. Follow the program guidelines and your counselor’s instructions to the letter and you will reach the closing table in the shortest amount of time possible, no matter how long or short that time frame may be.
