I was needing to kow how to become a member of NACA. I filed bankrupcty in 2007 it was discharged in 2008. In 2011 I was told by HSBC Mortgage Services that I no longer owned my home and as long as I made a paymnet on any type I could remain in the home. So, with that being said I decided to purchase and new home. In this process I was not making my full mortgage payment and when I found a home I wanted to purchase I was told by underwritting that since I had a home with my nome on the deed I did not qualify for USDA or FHA financing. Now I am behind in my currant home motgage and I am looking into a loan modification. I have equity in the home, but would like to lower my intrest rate, that is currently 7%, I would also would prefer to have the late fees removed and put the late payments put on the end of the loan. I haven’t a clue wat to do.

    Hello aliciaskids,

You can begin by going to the NACA website at http://www.naca.com, clicking on the blue “Home Save” button and establishing your file there. You will learn what documents we will need and how to submit them, and how to schedule a telephone counseling appointment so we can work with the documents, conduct and interview and create the proposal for sumbission to your lender.

    Thanks!

    Hello Tim,

On the subject of submitting documents, I just faxed all of the required documents this morning, except for the Dodd-Frank certification and the NACA Solution Priority documents (which would not open from the links provided), from the counseling appointment confirmation email I was sent. I faxed all of these documents to the fax number given to me by a NACA customer service agent: (617) 477-5120. At my 12:00 appointment time, I received an automated call saying that my voicemail had been reached, even though I picked up before voicemail would have. I am at a complete loss now as to what to do. This is the third attempt I have made to call a NACA counselor, per the instructions on my Web-File page. I am very interested in NACA’s services, as my mortgage situation is absolutely out of control. Any assistance you can provide is much appreciated.

    Hello jmc,

You should immediately call 888-495-6222. This is a line for missed appointments. You will need to enter your NACA ID number when asked and it will put you in the queue to speak with a counselor.
