Hi fellow Naca members,
So I got got qualified, YAAAAAAYYY, super stoked a out that. My issue is I need to know what I can do to get the underwriters to realize the trimerged credit pull for one of my credit cards is incorrect. This correction will mean an increase of $200 in my affordability. I have sent them my credit card statement and a statement from my bank that provides the credit card stating what my payment is and to no avail. This is unfair to me because this means less house or more money that has to come out of pocket to buy down the interest rate. Does anyone have any idea of what else I can do?
I doubt if credit report inaccuracies will make a difference of $200 in your affordability (unless you closed/paid-off MULTIPLE credit cards or loan accounts that have aggregate total of minimum payment due of $200). As to correcting inaccuracies in the reports, YOU would need to contact the concerning lender/credit card companies to correct their reporting to credit bureaus, which hopefully will reflect accurately in their report over a week to a month (if not, contact the bureau) and then contact NACA to re-do your underwriting again. It is a tedious process I know, but that is how the system is set up. For future, use free credit monitoring services like credit karma and pull reports straight from each bureau for free (they allow once a year free report pull). Hope this helps and best wishes to you!
