    So I took off work to get ready for my appointment only to receive an email saying the counselor would be out sick. When I called the man Potee said he couldn’t reschedule but that she is expected in tomorrow and she would have to reschedule my appointment. Now usually I’m very reasonable but I took a day off for this as the location is 35mins away and I have to get my children from daycare and school. Has this happen to anyone and is it custom to just have to wait on the one counselor or can another counselor assist?

    By the way this was my second appointment after being given action items. I have met all items on the sheet so I guess I was anxious to see what was next

    The MC all have appointments booked any time they’re available, right? So they can’t just make more time appear in their schedule when one of them is ill. It’s an unfortunate inconvenience, but if your MC is sick, they’re sick, the same way anyone else gets sick. I’m sure they’d rather be well than sick.

    Wow! Rude much! You must be one of the counselor if not The counselor! Wouldn’t be a surprise as the attitudes stink. Remember you get more flies with honey. I was just asking a question! Is that illegal? Oh I know, no one understands how to be professional in this organization and if you are in face just a member, well you are just unnecessarily rude and probably shouldn’t reply to a person who is genuinely asking a question and had to make major sacrifices to have my appointment.

    @missmccorkle I feel your pain. I haven’t had a reschedule yet, but I am frustrated at how things are ran. Information that should have been collected from me and info that should have been told to me at the first appointment were held until my last appointment, where I walked in expecting to be qualified because I had saved all the money I was told and completed all action items. Now I can’t even get an answer or a reply to an email or voice message. I’m trying to be patient but I’m already discouraged. I feel your pain and frustration.

    That is all I am saying. It’s not easy for them but it’s not easy for the applicant/member as well. I’m a single mom who works very hard and I had everything set to provide to the HC but she was ill. I’m not upset she was ill I’m upset that NACA hasn’t set up a process to ensure their client is serviced even if they have to employ a remote counselor. Do something so that the member is taken care of. Bc now what? I have to get rescheduled and take a whole day off of work again and I have a sick son who I don’t take vacation on purpose for. So for the mean person who replied to my post, you have no clue what it’s like for me. Especially when you have done your due diligence. So I hope NACA improves how they handle situations like this.

    @missmccorkle sorry for your frustration. the rescheduling cannot be a good feeling, especially just being left in limbo like that. I feel the same way right now with unanswered questions. I wonder just how long you have to be a polite pest in order to get an answer around these parts, I’ll continue trying to reach out to my MC daily and hopefully you are able to get rescheduled asap when your counselor is feeling better.

    @missmccorkle You can just go to the office any day and your counselor will eventually see you or at least another counselor will see you, you may have to wait since you don’t have an appointment for that day and they will eventually see you

    Update: I never heard from the counselor so I have since been released to a remote counselor. It takes 2 days to assign per member services so I’m looking forward to that being a better experience for me! Especially due to the convenience of it all.
