    Found a house. Yay!
They accepted the offer. Double Yay!

Because the home need a little bit of work and repair, I need to think about contractors. I have a list of NACA recommended contractors in my area. I would like to seek some bids from contractors outside that list.

Can someone point me to or explain to me the process to get them registered with NACA? I want to be able to provide them with as much information up front as possible. Any other information to ensure their confidence in the NACA rehab process will be helpful as well.

I’ve heard horror stories about the NACA rehab process and I really would like it to go as smoothly as possible.

    Hello dware08,

For a contractor to become NACA authorized, they must possess:

    Proper business license(s)
Business liability insurance in the same name as the business
    Dedicated business bank account.

The contractor must start at our website,, then click on the “Vendors” tab, then on “Contractors”. Click on the proper spot to register as a contractor and upload the requested documents. The HAND department will be in touch with the contractor to finish the process.

    Thank you.

    I appreciate it!

    To piggyback,

How long is the process for HAND to approve the contractor? thanks for any insight
