I am in year 3 of my Chapter 13 BK and my mortgage has been modified by the lender while I am in Chapter 13, but not permanently. Can NACA help me get a permanent modification? My lawyer negotiated my payment under HAMP guidelines, but my lender, HSBC, does not officially participate in HAMP. Thanks for any advice

Hello jee,

HSBC is notorious for their short term, typically two year, modifications. They did not take any of the TARP bailout money from the government and are not obligated to participate in any of the government modification programs.

Even though HSBC can be very difficult to work with, NACA will be happy to work with you in trying to get a permanent solution. You may start the process by going to our website at http://www.naca.com and clicking on the blue “Home Save” button.
