|(Paterson, NJ – August 16, 2017) – Paterson Mayor Jose “Joey” Torres has partnered with NACA, the nation’s most successful HUD certified non-profit, to host a special foreclosure prevention workshop this Saturday to help area homeowners struggling with unaffordable mortgages.
The event will take place at John F. Kennedy High School, 61 Preakness Ave. in Paterson from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and all services are free of charge.

Disregard for the rules of the Forum and abuses of the Forum and other social media in general is not tolerated. Such activity hinders the effectiveness of the NACA social media efforts as tools for asking questions, sharing information and for those who are seeking help with problems in either the Home Save or Purchase programs. F(orum) comes before E(mail):
Maybe not in the alphabet, but here in the forum, F comes before E. In other words, please post your question in the Forum rather than circumvent the system and send an Email to an address you happen to find in the forum. The forum exists for several purposes, not the least of which is the sharing of information that may be beneficial to many of our members.
Most of the questions we receive are more generic in nature than most people think. By posting a question in the Forum first, it can be most likely answered here in the Forum unless it involves specific information in your file. By handling the question or problem here whenever possible, other members experiencing a similar problem could get the answer and help they need more quickly and without making a single additional keystroke.
If responding to your post does require specific information, you will be advised on the best means of contact with us so any personal information can be communicated securely and confidentially.
The Forum Does Not Replace NACA Services:
The NACA Forum or other NACA social media are in no way a substitute for NACA Counseling and Advocacy services whether in the Home Save or Purchase Programs, and information found here should not be considered a replacement for communicating with a NACA counselor, Member Services rep or any other NACA representative. While much of the information here is general in nature and applicable to most situations, specific questions regarding your file cannot be addressed in this or any other public forum for privacy reasons. Additionally, every file has unique factors and issues of its own. Therefore, you should always attempt to communicate your questions and concerns with your Mortgage Consultant in the Purchase Program and with a Counselor, Member Services or other Member Assistance Program (MAP) representative. Keep it Civil:
Another serious issue is the tone used in some messages. We eagerly invite anyone who is having what they perceive to be any sort of problem with the NACA process or on line system to use the NACA Forum and social media channels as a means of reaching out to us with those concerns so we can help solve them in whatever way we can. However, please remember to compose your message in the same manner in which you would like to receive the response. As noted above, “derogatory, inflammatory or questionable content” has always been grounds for posts to simply be deleted without response, and will continue to be so. Deletion of any and all messages from any individual or group of people is at the sole discretion of the Forum administrators. This includes sarcasm as well as insulting and accusatory statements. While we are in fact eager to help with any problems that may occur, if you can’t write without being cynical, you may want to hold off a bit until you can be more rational in expressing your concerns.
No Personal Information:
While this one should be common sense, it is surprising how many people will post their name, NACA ID number and even their telephone number in a forum post or even on Facebook. Please remember that what you write here can be read by anyone on the internet. This is not a membership-restricted site, so please do not post any information about yourself here that you would not announce over a microphone to a crowd of twenty thousand people. Again, that personal information starts with and includes your NACA ID number. Never post it or any other personal information in a public forum, here or anywhere else on the web.
Oh, By the Way, Who Am I Talking To?
Under other circumstances, this would actually be funny. We far too commonly receive emails from members who go to substantial effort to make sure they have provided a wonderfully detailed explanation of their problem or question to insure we have all the information necessary to address their concerns… Then forget to include their NACA ID number, leaving us in the dark or doing detective work to find out which file we are dealing with.
It’s really a simple, common sense rule. NEVER post your ID in a public place, but ALWAYS include it, every time, in private communications such as an email or the Live Chat system available through the NACA website.
One Way or Another:
While we realize you intend to be thorough by doing so, posting the same message to the Forum, our Facebook page, and emailing it to a Forum administrator is actually counter-productive. Most likely, all three messages will go to the same person, which means answering the same question for the same person three separate times. This redundancy only slows down our response time to you and everyone else we are trying to help. So please limit yourself to one method when communicating with us.
Once is Enough:
Likewise, posting the same message in multiple threads in the Forum will have the same effect as posting through several different media.
Each still has to be addressed and responded to separately, which only slows down our response time and can confuse members who may then falsely think that they have read the entire thread previously and possibly miss out on some important information that could have a bearing on their own file.
Similarly, multiple messages each day with minor or random questions bog things down too. We want to answer those questions for you, but in such a circumstance, please send them all in one daily message if possible.
By posting in this Forum, you certify that you have read and agree to abide by these rules. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the deletion of offending posts and the writer potentially being banned from this Forum and other NACA social media.

There are more than 230,000 NACA Members who have over $17 Billion dollars in Wells Fargo accounts. As I continued to question them, I was physically dragged out of the meeting. This is unacceptable — Wells Fargo’s executives and directors must be held personally accountable for engaging in illegal sales practices, and exploiting customers and employees for over 15 years.

OVER $17 BILLION IN ACCOUNTS HELD BY NACA MEMBERS
(Boston, MA – May 31, 2017) –NACA has officially launched its Wells Fargo Justice Campaign, which seeks to enlist NACA’s 229,825 members who collectively have more than $17 Billion in Wells Fargo accounts, and other individuals to take action in light of Wells Fargo’s predatory practices.
The Wells Fargo Justice Campaign (click here) is employing multiple strategies to hold Wells Fargo accountable for the damage it has inflicted on its customers and make Wells Fargo a more responsible and accountable financial institution. Wells Fargo account holders have enormous purchasing power and thus influence on Wells Fargo. NACA seeks to unite these customers with NACA members, Wells Fargo employees and other concerned people to:
- Participate in Protests – Join demonstrations and protests to hold Wells Fargo’s executives and directors personally responsible for the bank’s predatory activities.
- Join Lawsuits — Identify victims of the fake account scandal and encourage them to join with others in legal action against Wells Fargo.
- Switch Banks — Move their money to a different bank, leveraging customers’ immense purchasing power to show Wells Fargo executives and directors the severe repercussions of Wells’ predatory practices.
- Become a Whistleblower — Encourage present and former Wells Fargo employees to become part of the campaign. As a previous or current employee, these people have also been victimized in many cases by extreme pressure and impossible goals from management to open new accounts. In some cases this has resulted in wrongful job losses and even physical illness for these employees. This places them in the unique position to effect real change by sharing critical information through joining and supporting the Wells Fargo Justice campaign.
NACA’s Wells Fargo Justice Campaign began on April 25th when NACA CEO Bruce Marks and others confronted Wells Fargo CEO Tim Sloan and Chairman Stephen Sanger during the Wells Fargo’s annual meeting in Jacksonville, Florida. Bruce Marks demanded answers in order to hold the CEO and their board of directors accountable but was forcibly removed. To hear the confrontation at Wells’ annual meeting click here.
Marks said, “NACA, our Members and many others are in a powerful position to hold Wells Fargo’s executives and board of directors personally accountable for the bank’s predatory practices. Hundreds of thousands of NACA members collectively have more than $17 Billion in balances with Wells Fargo in bank accounts, car loans, student loans, personal loans and mortgages.” Marks continues, “Wells Fargo acknowledged they have been exploiting their customers and even their own employees for over 15 years through their improper practices. Their shallow apologies and cosmetic changes are not enough“. The government has taken an important step by downgrading Wells Fargo’s Community Reinvestment Act rating to “Needs Improvement”, which is the worst of any major bank, but much more needs to be done.

As of today, all members with active files must have submitted their 2016 income tax returns for their file to continue to move forward. This includes all forms and schedules filed with the IRS for both W-2 and 1099 income earners.
Members who have filed a form 4868 (Automatic Extension) will not be able to move forward in the program until their 1040 has been filed and any taxes owed have been paid in full.

Please remember that all active members in the NACA Purchase Program must submit their 2016 W-2 or 1099 forms to their NACA file no later (Jan 31) than today for their file to continue moving forward. This applies whether or not you have filed your 2016 tax return yet.
All 2016 tax returns also must be submitted to your file no later than the filing deadline of April 18th to avoid being delayed. Late filing, even if your have submitted a Form 4868 extension, will cause your file to be delayed until the return is actually filed.

Here are a couple of reminders for all of our members now that the new year has begun:
Annual membership dues of $25 are presently due and payable for all Purchase Program Members who have not received a Clear to Close on their loan. Dues may be paid on line through your NACA web file. NACA membership dues are paid annually and are due from all members on January 1 of each year and cover the calendar year through December 31, regardless of the month in which you started the program.
Please be aware that your NACA file will not be able to progress forward until the annual dues have been paid.
Tax forms for 2016 must be submitted to your NACA file as soon as they are available.
- ALL W2 and 1099 forms must be submitted to your file no later than January 31.
- All tax returns must be submitted, in their entirety, no later than Tuesday, April 18. Please note that all forms must bear the physical signature of the person filing the return, even if the return was filed electronically with the IRS.
- Members filing a form 4868 (Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return) will not be able to move forward in the NACA process until such time as their tax return has been filed and any taxes due have been paid.
