ALL NACA MEMBERS: Please remember your participation pledge!

Members are required to give back, in whatever way they feel comfortable, with at least five actions and activities each year in support of NACA’s mission. Every Member is encouraged to contribute his/her unique skills to NACA and its mission. NACA’s great success is because of the active participation of NACA’s huge membership. There are many activities in which you may participate, including: advocacy campaigns that may include protests, demonstrations, actions against persons or companies that discriminate against or victimize others; legal actions; ballot initiatives focusing on economic justice issues; participating at a Save-the-Dream/American Dream Event; volunteering in a NACA office; participating on a NACA peer lending committee; or assisting other Members with the home buying or Home Save process.

Additionally, other very simple methods can earn you participation credits as well. For example, posting the flyer for an upcoming NACA workshop to your social media pages and putting up fliers at work. Simply send our Outreach Department proof of you activity such as a web link, screenshot from your computer or a photo of where you posted the flyer at work.

Likewise, any time you recommend NACA to someone and they attend the initial Purchase Workshop, send us that person’s information and we will give you credit as well.

Another method that is growing in popularity is obtaining a NACA yard sign from your local office and displaying it in your front yard or place of business. Once again, just send us a photo of it on display and we will provide credit.

Send your proof of the above activities to to receive participation credit.

Your involvement is essential for NACA to continue to provide its free comprehensive housing services and the NACA Mortgage. Before joining NACA, you agreed to the Participation Pledge which requires you to participate in at least five activities each year. This applies immediately and extends for as long as you have a mortgage through NACA. An absolute minimum of one participation activity is required before closing on your home with a NACA mortgage. You should discuss how you can best participate with your Housing Counselor. We are always in need of people to help spread the word about NACA’s mission, and nobody is better qualified than our active NACA members.

Thus, the initial participation can be to put NACA flyers in your workplace, church, and any other place or organization of which you are part as noted above. Remember to provide this information to us so we can document your participation. We strongly urge you to take the initiative and contact your NACA office to volunteer and participate or go to and sign-up on the volunteer link. If you receive a live or tape-recorded phone call or e-mail to participate at an event or action, please pay attention to these and do your best to attend. If you are unable to participate, it is important to find others who can. Participation and direct action on the part of our members has made NACA successful and will continue to strengthen our neighborhoods and organization.

Thank you for being such an important part of what has made NACA such an innovative and influential force in its mission of affordable and responsible home ownership.

I am in Saint Louis. I wanted to know if anyone was able to use grants with the NACA program and if so whats the name of the grant. I have researched the 4.5% grant from Missouri Housing Department Commission but it has to be with a certified bank, has anyone on here been successful with obtaining a grant using this program?

      Hello Monique Durahm,

All NACA loans are through Bank of America or CitiMortgage. I suspect both meet the definition of “certified bank”.
